Happy Friday babes! I hope you had a kick butt, take names type of week! And if your week was a little stressful you may have a few new zit friends on your face, YAY… NOT! I don’t know what happened, but when I turned thirty my acne decided to come back. I’ve heard so many other babes talk about their adult acne and today I’m sharing my new favorite product for fighting it.
I don’t know about you, but when my acne returned it was more cystic than when I was a teenager. It also came back on my back and chest… I mean really, go away!! So my mission this year has been to get rid of this stuff. I went to the dermatologist and they put me on Minocycline which is an oral antibiotic that helps with acne. I don’t know if it worked because I’m so terrible about taking medicine on a daily basis. Since that was too high maintenance for me I asked for a topical product.
I was prescribed Sodium Sulfacetamide 10% and Sulfur 5% wash. This stuff did the trick! I used the Indie Lee Brightening Cleanser (side note: Indie Lee is a great green facial line!) to remove my makeup and then used the prescription wash. You can also use the sulfur wash on your body! It’s used just like face wash, but you only wash it on for 10 seconds or so. I would use it once, sometimes twice a day. When I left it on too long or used it too often my skin could get a little oily or a little dry. But it gets those zits! I started to see improvement in about a week! Seriously! This wash was fairly cheap with my insurance, but then it dropped off my coverage 🙁 I wanted to cry! I thought about ordering from an online pharmacy but I decided to search amazon first.
What did I find? Sulphur Soap – Premium 10% Sulfur Advanced Wash for $6.90! This stuff works just as good and maybe even better than the wash my dermatologist prescribed. It’s a bar of soap that when activated for thirty seconds under warm water it lathers up pretty good. It’s a little less intense than the wash, so I can leave it on longer and use it morning and night. My skin gets a little oily occasionally, but nothing major. It really keeps my acne at bay. I still get zits but they are smaller, do not hurt and are gone faster. AND it’s a green product using only plant based ingredients. For $7 you should definitely give this soap a try! Let’s face it, us babes don’t have time for acne!
Have you tried any of these products before? Let me know if the Sulphur Soap – Premium 10% Sulfur Advanced Wash works for you!
